Madison, the capital city of Wisconsin, sits upon an Isthmus between Lake Mendota and Lake Monona.
The City of Five Lakes as Madison is often called is not only known for its lakes but also its restaurants, and extensive network of parks and bike trails, with much of the park system designed by landscape architect John Nolen.
Regularly ranked as one of the top cities in the country to live, Madison and its surrounding suburbs has the lowest unemployment rates in the state. The University of Wisconsin is in Madison and is one of its largest employers. Companies that also call Madison home include; American Family Insurance and UW Health, while Epic Systems Corp., Spectrum Brands, American Girl Brands, and Exact Sciences are in nearby suburbs. Voted #3 on Livability's 2019 Best Cities to Live list.
Although Madison is the state capital, it still combines a small town feel with a vibrant, big city feel with cultural offerings for almost every type of interest.
